Kingsnorth Climate Action Medway (KCAM) information

Welcome to the Kingsnorth Climate Action Medway (KCAM) pages on the No New Coal website. KCAM are a group of local campaigners working to stop the construction of a new coal-fired power station at Kingsnorth in Kent.

Kingsnorth Climate Action Medway (KCAM)

Kingsnorth Climate Action Medway is a local group formed to challenge the spin we've heard from EON and the council about Kingsnorth. We meet fortnightly at the Tipping Point shop, 46 High Street, Gillingham.

Our next meeting is on Wednesday November November 25th at 7.30pm. This meeting will be a special event dedicated to providing information and holding discussions around the forthcoming Climate Summit at Copenhagen in December and to make plans for The Wave on December 5th, when thousands of people from across the UK will be marching through London to demand urgent action on climate change. More information below.

MEDWAVE: Come together to stop climate chaos

Climate Change threatens millions around the globe. The most recent studies suggest that without action, our future, together with that of the eco-systems around us, is very bleak. In December, world leaders will gather in Copenhagen for what may be the last chance to secure global agreements to effectively tackle emissions before we pass catastrophic tipping points into irreversible climate chaos.

Gillingham 25.11.09

Be it the risk from flooding, poor air quality from coal power, or new employment opportunities from green jobs, there is a lot at stake for Medway.

Join other local people at 7pm on Weds 25th November, 46 High Street Gillingham, to find out more about the most important international meeting ever. This is a chance to push for urgently needed investment in green energy, public transport, insulation schemes etc. With speakers from the World Development Movement, the Campaign Against Climate Change and local groups - this is an opportunity to come together with others from  Medway and discuss the greatest threat ever to face humanity.

Organised by Kingsnorth Climate Action Medway and Tipping Point.

London 05.12.09

On December 5th, tens of thousands of people will gather in London to demand urgent action in making immediate cuts in emissions rather than squandering precious time on ineffectual and unjust market mechanisms.

Join others from Medway travelling together to London by train.

Gillingham 10:29 / Chatham 10:33 / Rochester 10:36 to arrive at Victoria at 11.17.

Phone 07050 659349 if you need directions to join the Medway block.
